About the event
Our popular crab party is back at Vulkanfisk! This is the event that every year brings together both seafood-loving Norwegians and the Asian communities in Oslo around our tables in Mathallen.
Autumn is the peak season for Norwegian king crab, and right now the ingredient is at its absolute best. This year we are taking the success to a whole new level and inviting you to a magnificent "All you can eat" crab buffet that celebrates the best of two worlds. Here you can mix and match the beloved Norwegian classics with fresh and exciting flavors from Asian seafood cuisine.
We do almost all the work for you!
Enjoying a crab feast should be easy and hassle-free. That's why our chefs do all the heavy lifting beforehand: We clean the crab shells and crush the claws before serving. You're spared all the heavy lifting, and can concentrate fully on picking out the delicious crab meat and composing your own perfect dish.
What do you find at the buffet?
🇳🇴 The classic Norwegian accessory
For those of you who love the traditional flavors you know from the archipelago:
• Fresh, cold crabs and juicy claws.
• Crispy sourdough bread with lemon and fresh dill.
• Homemade mayonnaise.
🌏 The exciting Asian accessory
For those of you who want to challenge your taste buds and experience seafood in an Asian way:
• The legendary, sweet and sour Vietnamese fish sauce dip (Nước Chấm).
• Fiery Korean Gochujang mayonnaise with a fresh touch of lime.
• Warm, fluffy Bao Buns and freshly fried, crispy shrimp chips – perfect to scoop up the crab meat with!
• Generous platters of fresh herbs such as coriander, mint and Thai basil.
Our bar manager has also loaded the bar with ice-cold Asian lagers and perfectly chilled Riesling wines that go wonderfully with crab and the fresh dips.
